The basics

What is Dutiess?expand_more

Dutiess is a Driver to Driver duty exchange for Indian cab drivers, travel agencies and fleet operators. When you cannot serve a booking from your own customer - your car is booked, in the workshop, or you are out of town - you post it as a duty. Verified drivers nearby apply, and you choose who gets it.

There is no broker in between, no commission on the fare, and no passengers on the platform. Dutiess is strictly business-to-business: everyone on it is a verified commercial driver or a business that runs them.

How do I join?expand_more

Download the Android app and verify your phone number with an OTP. Then you complete two steps:

Part 1 - driver verification. Scan your Aadhaar, enter your driving licence for a check against the government Sarathi database, then take a live photo. We match that photo against your official licence photo.

Part 2 - vehicle verification. Enter your registration number for an RC check against VAHAN, upload your commercial permit and insurance, and take five photos of the vehicle.

Most drivers finish in about fifteen minutes. Full details are in the Verification Policy.

Is Dutiess free?expand_more

Your first month is free, with every feature unlocked and no card required to start.

After that, the introductory price is ₹160 per month, 80% off the regular ₹799 price, with zero commission on any duty. Refer five drivers who complete verification and your next month is free - with no limit on how many months you can earn. See Pricing.

Which cities do you operate in?expand_more

Delhi NCR first - Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Ghaziabad and Faridabad.

A duty exchange is only useful if somebody nearby is actually available when you post at 11 pm. Forty verified drivers in one zone beat five hundred scattered across the country, so we build density in one market before opening the next. If you want your city next, tell us.

Can travel agencies join?expand_more

Yes. Agencies can hold multiple vehicles and drivers under one account, post a duty that needs several vehicle categories at once - say two SUVs and a sedan for a wedding - and compare applicants by rating, reliability score and duty history before choosing.

If you are moving an existing WhatsApp network onto Dutiess, write to us and we will help onboard your drivers.

Can individual drivers join?expand_more

Yes - individual drivers are the core of the network. You need a valid driving licence, a commercial vehicle with a valid RC, and a cab or contract-carriage permit.

The vehicle does not have to be registered in your name; leased and fleet-owned cars are completely normal, and we never compare your identity against the RC owner. Private, non-commercial vehicles cannot onboard.

Trust, money and safety

How is verification done?expand_more

Six checks, all completed before you can see a single duty:

1. Phone OTP · 2. Aadhaar photo scan, with the number masked and the raw ID scrubbed before storage · 3. Driving licence checked against the government Sarathi database · 4. Vehicle RC checked against VAHAN · 5. A live face check to prove you are a real person, not a photo · 6. A match between that selfie and your official licence photo.

Mismatches never trigger an automatic rejection - they are flagged for a human to review. See the Verification Policy.

Does Dutiess take a commission?expand_more

No. Dutiess never handles money. There is no wallet, no payment gateway, and no cut of any fare - not during launch, not after it.

The poster and the accepting driver settle the fare directly between themselves, exactly as they do today. Our only revenue is the flat monthly subscription, and it is the same price for everybody.

Will other drivers see my customer's phone number?expand_more

No. Your customer's name, phone number and any note you add are hidden from everyone - including drivers who have applied - until you select a driver and press the share button yourself.

Applicants only ever see the route, the timing, the vehicle requirement and the fare. This is the anti-poaching rule the whole product is built around: your customer stays yours.

What happens if a driver doesn't turn up?expand_more

Report the no-show in the app. A human reviews every report.

Confirmed no-shows and late cancellations (backing out under two hours before pickup) reduce the driver's public reliability score and add a strike. Three strikes and the account is removed permanently. Ratings work both ways, so posters who behave badly lose score too.

What is the reliability score?expand_more

A public number from 0 to 100 shown on every driver card, next to the star rating and duty count. Every driver starts at 80.

It goes up when you complete duties and rate on time, and down for no-shows, late cancellations, never confirming a duty you posted, and letting the four-day rating window lapse. It is the closest thing on the platform to a professional reputation - and posters use it to choose.

What is an URGENT duty?expand_more

For when something breaks on the way to a pickup. Post an URGENT duty and every on-duty verified driver within 15 km gets a full-screen alert, like an incoming call, instead of a normal notification.

It exists because a breakdown at 4:40 am for a 5 am airport pickup is the single worst moment in this job, and twenty minutes of WhatsApp is twenty minutes you do not have.

Account and data

What data does Dutiess collect about me?expand_more

Your phone number, name and date of birth, your approximate location while you are on duty (to show duties near you and calculate distance), device information, and your verification documents - Aadhaar scan with the number masked, driving licence details, RC, permit, insurance and vehicle photos.

We do not sell any of it. The Privacy Policy lists every field, why we hold it, how long we keep it and how to get it deleted.

Can I delete my account and my data?expand_more

Yes. Request deletion from inside the app or email hello@dutiess.com from your registered address. We action it within 30 days.

Some records are kept longer where the law requires it - for example verification audit logs and records connected to an open safety investigation. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what and for how long.

Does the app work on a slow connection or an old phone?expand_more

Yes - that was a design requirement, not an afterthought. Photos are compressed on the device before upload, the feed is built to survive 2G, and the whole app runs on entry-level Android handsets.

It is available in English, हिंदी, বাংলা, मराठी, தமிழ், తెలుగు, ಕನ್ನಡ and മലയാളം.

Is there an iPhone app?expand_more

Not yet. Android first, because that is what the overwhelming majority of commercial drivers in India carry. iOS is on the roadmap under "Later".
