Cookie Policy

A short, honest account of what Dutiess stores on your device. Today it is very little - and we will update this page the moment that changes.

updateLast updated: 3 August 2026·cookieNo advertising or cross-site tracking

Where we stand today. The Dutiess website sets no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking cookies. The Android app uses no cookies at all - it stores your login session in the device's secure storage. If we introduce analytics or marketing cookies, we will ask for your consent first and update this page.

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. It lets a site remember something between page loads or visits - that you are signed in, which language you chose, or that you already dismissed a banner.

"Similar technologies" means anything that stores or reads data on your device for the same purposes: local storage and session storage in a browser, and secure key-value storage inside a mobile app.

2. The types, and which we use

Type What it does Do we use it?
Strictly necessary Makes the site work at all - security, load balancing, abuse prevention. Cannot be switched off. Yes
Session Holds state for the length of a visit and disappears when you close the browser. Yes - where needed
Preference Remembers choices such as language. Yes - local storage only
Analytics Counts visits and shows which pages are read, so we know what to improve. Not yet - see §4
Marketing / advertising Tracks people across sites to target ads and measure campaigns. No - see §5

3. Strictly necessary cookies and session storage

These are the only things we store on your device today, and they exist to make the service work rather than to learn about you.

  • Security and abuse prevention. Our hosting and CDN provider (Cloudflare) may set a cookie to distinguish real visitors from automated traffic and to keep the site available under attack. It contains no personal information and is not used for tracking or advertising.
  • Load balancing and delivery. Short-lived technical identifiers so your requests reach a working server.
  • Preferences. If you set a language on the site, it is kept in your browser's local storage - on your device, never sent anywhere.

Under Indian and most international rules, strictly necessary cookies do not require consent, because without them the site cannot be delivered. We do not set anything else without asking.

4. Analytics

We do not currently run any analytics on dutiess.com. Our web server keeps standard, aggregated request logs (page requested, timestamp, approximate region, browser type) for security and capacity planning - these are not cookies and are not used to profile you.

We may introduce a privacy-respecting analytics tool later to understand which pages help drivers and which do not. If we do:

  • we will list it in the table above, with its name and what it stores;
  • we will prefer a tool that does not use cookies and does not track people across sites;
  • if it does set cookies, we will show a consent banner and it will stay off unless you accept;
  • we will never use analytics data to identify an individual driver.

5. Marketing cookies (future)

We do not use marketing or advertising cookies today. There are no ad pixels, retargeting tags or social media trackers on this website.

If we ever advertise Dutiess and need to measure it, marketing cookies would be strictly opt-in: off by default, set only after you actively accept, withdrawable at any time, and never used to build a profile of a driver's work or earnings. This page and the banner would be updated before any such cookie is set.

6. Third-party requests

Two third parties are involved in loading this website:

  • Google Fonts - serves the typefaces and icon font used across the site. Loading a font reveals your IP address and browser type to Google. Google states that Fonts requests do not set cookies.
  • Cloudflare - hosts and delivers the site, and may set the strictly necessary security cookie described in §3.

No other third-party scripts run on these pages.

7. The Android app

The Dutiess app is not a browser and does not use cookies. It stores:

  • your session and refresh tokens, in the device's secure storage, so you stay logged in between sessions;
  • your language preference;
  • a push notification token, so duty alerts and URGENT alerts can reach you.

Logging out clears the tokens. Uninstalling the app removes all of it from your device.

8. How to control cookies

You are always in charge of what your browser stores:

  • Chrome - Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Site data
  • Safari - Settings → Safari → Privacy & Security
  • Firefox - Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Edge - Settings → Cookies and site permissions

You can also browse in a private/incognito window, which discards everything when you close it. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from loading correctly; blocking the rest costs you nothing here, because we do not use the rest.

9. Changes to this policy

We will update this page whenever we add or remove a cookie or similar technology, and change the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes - particularly anything involving consent - will also be announced on the site.
